Romeo Rd Village Board Village Board Meeting Minutes April 3, 2019 Regular Meeting 1. CALL TO ORDER Roll Call Present 7- Trustee Jose Chavez, Trustee Linda Palmiter, Trustee Ken Griffin, Trustee Dave Richards, Trustee Brian A. Clancy Sr., Mayor John Noak, and Trustee Lourdes Aguirre 2. POSTING OF COLORS, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. PETITIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Nancy Hackett-The Historical Society museum will be open as of April 16th. It is located at 14 Belmont Dr., behind the presbytryian church. The first major exhibits are technology and toys, games and dolls. Hours are Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m., Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. and the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1-4 p.m. Our grand opening will be held on June 8th from 3-6. Rich Strom- The entryways into the Wal-Mart are littered with potholes. Something needs to be done to correct this. Also, the Village needs to hold contractors accountable. He has lost power numerous times due to Comcast hitting lines in his area and it is going to get worse once the weather warms up and people start using their air conditioning. This should have been monitored by the Village. 4. CONSENT AGENDA A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Aguirre, to do a consent agenda. RES19-2658 A Resolution Authorizing Waiving of Bids to Accept a Proposal for Building Insulation for the Fitness Center, Adjoining Hallway, and Mezzanine from Caliber Construction Company This Resolution was Approved. RES19-2659 A Resolution Authorizing Waiving of Bids to Accept a Sales Proposal for New Fitness Equipment from Direct Fitness Solutions, LLC This Resolution was Approved. MAYOR'S REPORT Congratulations to all of the election winners and thanks to all who ran. Congratulations to his collegues on this Board, the Valley View School District Board members, Zack Binkley who is newly elected to the White Oak Library District, and Nancy Garcia who is new to the JJC Board. Unfortunatley the library referendum did not pass. Congratulations to Salon de Luxe who held their ribbon cutting this past Friday. Rotary will be hosting a pancake breakfast on April 7th at the Lockport American Legion Hall. Join us for the Bunny Bash and Egg Hunt on April 12th. Check out the videos of Romeoville High School's valedictorian and salutatorian. 19-2604 Proclamation Designating April as Child Abuse Prevention Month A motion was made by Trustee Palmiter, seconded by Trustee Griffin, that this Proclamation be Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, and Trustee Aguirre Non-voting: 1- Mayor Noak 19-2605 Proclamation Designating National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week A motion was made by Trustee Palmiter, seconded by Trustee Clancy, that this Proclamation be Accepted. Tiffany Jackson stated that she is so happy and honored to be a part of the Veteran's Commission. A motion was made by Trustee Chavez, seconded by Trustee Griffin, that this Appointment be Accepted. BOARD COMMENTS Trustee Chavez- The Youth Outreach Commission Trivia Night is this Friday at Fat Ricky's. This is always a lot of fun. Congratulations to all of the election winners. Congratulations to our new lieutenant. Our crime rate dropped 21% in 2018. Thanks to our Police Department and to our residents. Best wishes to the Wysocki Family on their new business: Board Therapy. Trustee Palmiter- Thanks to all who voted. Congratulations to Mr Charniak. The pinwheels can be purchased at the Police Department for Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is a very worthy cause. Welcome to our new commission members. Trustee Griffin- The Veteran's Commission Scholarship applications are due by Friday. The next Commission meeting will be April 16th. Welcome to our new members. Congratulations to our new Lieutenant. Our Engine 23 and Ambulance 23 was awarding the Run of the Quarter by Edward's Hospital. Thanks to all who ran for election.
