The Council will approve the work session meeting minutes of November 14, 2023 and December 8, 2023, as well as the formal meeting minutes of December 5, 2023. B. PUBLIC HEARINGS: 1. Ordinance: Landscaping and Buffers Chapter Text Amendment The Council will accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance that would amend various sections of Title 21A of the Salt Lake City Code pertaining to Landscaping and Buffers chapter amendments. The proposed amendments would seek to reduce water consumption, enhance the urban forest, and improve air quality and green infrastructure city-wide. The proposal would also seek to clarify, simplify, and reorganize the landscaping and buffer chapter to be more user-friendly. Motion: Nomination of Council Chair and Vice Chair for Calendar Year 2024 The Council will consider a motion to ratify the election of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Salt Lake City Council for calendar year 2024. G. CONSENT: 1. Ordinance: Library Budget Amendment No.1 for Fiscal Year 2023-24 The Council will set the date of Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 7 p.m. to accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance that would amend the budget for the Library Fund for Fiscal Year 2023-24. Budget amendments happen several times each year to reflect adjustments to the City’s budgets, including proposed project additions and modifications. The proposed amendment includes a 1% cost of living increase for all Library employees and a new full-time employee for the Safety Team, among other items.
