Callaghan Road San Antonio, Texas 78227 San Antonio Fire Training Tuesday, October 15, 2024 9:30 AM Academy The Public Safety Committee will hold its regular meeting at the San Antonio Fire Training Academy at 300 S. Callaghan Road beginning at 9:30 AM. Once convened, the Public Safety Committee will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times. Members of the public can comment or speak on items on the agenda. Public comment will be scheduled during the meeting by the Chair. If an individual signs up to speak on one or more items, all comments will be heard at the same time. To sign up to speak visit www.saspeakup.com. Once a quorum is established, the Public Safety Committee shall consider the following: Approval of Minutes 1. Approval of minutes from the September 17, 2024 Public Safety Committee Meeting Public Comment Consent 2. Briefing and possible action on a $600,000.00 award from the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime for the FY 2024 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking Grant Program for the period of October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2027. [María Villagómez, Deputy City Manager; William P. McManus, Chief of Police] 3. Briefing and possible action on an Interlocal Cooperation Contract between Texas State University and the San Antonio Police Department for the continued participation in the State of Texas’ Tobacco Enforcement Program. Briefing on the San Antonio Fire Department’s Statistics for FY24 and an overview of Fire Operations / Standards of Cover. [María Villagómez, Deputy City Manager; Chris Monestier, Interim Fire Chief] Executive Session At any time during the meeting, the Committee may meet in executive session for consultation with the City Attorney's Office concerning attorney client matters under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code. Consideration of items for future meetings Adjournment After the meeting, members of the Public Safety Committee may tour the San Antonio Fire Training Academy, located at 300 S. Callaghan Road. No official action will be taken during this time.
