City of San Antonio AGENDA Commission on Veterans Affairs (VAC) meeting Phil Harberger Park, Urban Ecology Center, Monday, February 7, 2022 6:30 PM 8400 N.W. Military Highway, San Antonio, TX 78231 The Commission on Veterans Affairs (VAC) meeting will hold its regular meeting in the Phil Harberger Park, Urban Ecology Center, 8400 N.W. Military Highway, San Antonio, TX 78231 beginning at 6:30 PM. Once convened, the Commission on Veterans Affairs (VAC) meeting will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times. Once a quorum is established, the Commission on Veterans Affairs (VAC) meeting shall consider the following: Approval of Minutes Approval of the minutes from the VAC meeting on 18 January 2022. Public Comments Briefing and Possible Action on the following items A. Bylaws Subcommitee Updates B. Hidden Heroes Committee Subcommittee Updates C. Discussion on city bonds, greenspace, and any impacts to Military and Veterans (Mayoral Rep/ Chair) D. Healthy Veterans Initative (D8) E. Veterans Code Enforcement Remedies Discussion (D4 / Co­Chair) F. Special Meeting Focus Topic: Disabled Veterans and Accessiblity Parking (D9) SPECIAL NOTICE: The VAC will host a pre­meeting discussion prior to it’s regular meeting at 3:00 pm at the same location on the same day specifically to discuss Disabled Veterans (DV) license plates and accessibility parking. This discussion is open to the public. No item will come to vote unless later B. Hidden Heroes Committee Subcommittee Updates C. Special Meeting Focus Topic: Disabled Veterans and Accessiblity Parking (D9) SPECIAL NOTICE: The VAC will host a pre­meeting discussion prior to it’s regular meeting at 3:00 pm at the same location on the same day specifically to discuss Disabled Veterans (DV) license plates and accessibility parking. This discussion is open to the public. No item will come to vote unless later during the regularly scheduled meeting when the item is officially up for formal discussion. All VAC representatives who attend the discussion will be documented in the regular meeting members. G. District and Staff Updates: a. OMVA provides updates on any projects / initatives related to districts including: b. Districts provide brief update in order from D1­D10 c. Co­Chair (D4) Update d. Chair (Mayoral) Update At any time during the meeting, the Commission on Veterans Affairs (VAC) meeting may meet in executive session by videoconference for consultation with the City Attorney's Office concerning attorney client matters under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
