Recommendation: 1. Retroactively Approve the Ethiopian Flag Raising Ceremony to be
held on September 10, 2018 as a City Council sponsored Special Event
and approve the expenditure of funds.

a. District 7 Townhall Meeting on Public Safety on Monday,

Cultural Center on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Vietnamese

Recommendation: 1. Adoption of a resolution denouncing the U.S. Department of
Justice’s (DOJ) Zero Tolerance Policy that resulted in the inhumane
separation of families and a call for the immediate reunification of
existing separated families, and,
2. Direct the City Manager to review and comment on the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human
Services’ (HHS) proposed new regulation to implement the Flores
Settlement Agreement (FSA).
