ROGC Approval of Thompson Creek Community Meeting Sponsored By 18-530 Council District 8 as a City Council Sponsored Special Event to Expend City Funds and Accept Donations of Materials and Services for the Event. (Arenas) Recommendation: 1. Retroactive approval of the Thompson Creek community meeting scheduled on September 27, 2018 as a City Council sponsored Special Event and approve the expenditure of funds. 2. Approve and accept donations from various individuals, businesses, or community groups to support the event. 3. Place the item on the October 2, 2018 Council Agenda for action. Recommendation: Amend the August-December 2018 work plan of the Smart Cities and Service Improvements Committee to add the following item to the agenda for October 4, 2018: Facebook Live and Box Pilot Debrief and Next Steps (Mayor’s Office) Purpose: Provide a verbal update on the pilot test to stream the Smart Cities and Service Improvements Committee meetings on Facebook Live and store videos on Box in order to increase engagement and modernize the live-streaming experience. Discussion and feedback to staff. was not included on the Rules and Open Government Committee Agenda. The Committee has the following options: A) Do nothing and the item will be added on to the October 3, 2018 Rules and Open Government Committee Agenda. B) Determine that there is an immediate need to take action and that the need arose after posting the agenda to add the memo for review (requires 4 votes to pass if 5 members are present, or unanimous vote if less than 5 members are present). C) If (B) passes, the item may be discussed and action may be taken.
