2. ROGC Communicating District Changes to Residents. (Mayor, Jimenez,
22-036 Cohen, Foley, and Mahan)
Recommendation: 1. Direct the City Manager to identify the cost of communicating to
San Jose residents affected by boundary line changes through the
redistricting process and return with a recommendation for Council
consideration in the FY 21-22 mid-year budget hearing.
2. Direct the City Clerk--if Council allocates funding for this purpose
in February--to work with the City Manager’s Office of
Communications to disseminate information in an easily
understandable manner to residents in the multiple languages spoken
in the respective neighborhoods affected by redistricting.

Recommendation: a. As directed by Rules Committee on 12/1/2021, accept a progress
update from staff.
b. Deny the appeal from Katherine Weiland (aka Katherine
Reichenbach) regarding the City’s response to her request for public
records seeking records, specifically body worn camera footage, related
to a complaint submitted to the San Jose Police Department’s Internal
Affairs Unit (number I2020-2023), related to event number
20-211-0547.
