Also Present: Andrew Buckwinkler, Assistant to the Village Manager

Trustee Sullivan introduced trustees and staff present and briefly explained the purpose of Coffee
with the Council to those in attendance for the first time.
1. Carol Boyle, 437 Allonby Drive
Ms. Boyle stated that the snowplowing has been superb.
2. Bobbi Sloan, 736 Fennel Court
Ms. Sloan stated that her court was not plowed and she called to report it. Trustee Clar
asked if it was done later and Ms. Sloan replied that it was done after she called. Trustee
Sullivan stated that the courts are done by private contractors and there was an issue with
their equipment that has been resolved. Ms. Sloan stated that Public Works plowed her
street after the last snow event, but they just plowed the middle of the street. Mr. Hall
explained that the village does not use the private contractors for snow events of less than
two (2) inches and that the village’s crews will plow down the throat of the cul-de-sac and
salt on their way out. Trustee Bieschke explained that the same process was used on his
cul-de-sac during the small snow event.
3. Dave Slowik, 715 Sienna Drive
Mr. Slowik asked when the village will get fiber as Roselle, Bartlett, and Streamwood
already have fiber. Trustee Madej replied that AT&T is boring and putting fiber into the
neighborhood and that they are currently working on the south end of the village. Trustee
Madej stated that AT&T does plan on putting fiber across the entire Schaumburg and
Hoffman Estates area. Trustee Madej stated that it is up to the utility companies’ to
implement fiber as well as the village does not subsidize them. Mr. Slowik asked if the
AT&T work was just for new developments in the village, or if older neighborhoods would
be included. Trustee Madej replied that it was for the entire village. Mr. Buckwinkler
added that other providers are engaged with the village moving towards a full buildouts of
fiber and that the village is working with them on establishing a Master License Agreement
to ensure quality infrastructure is incorporated throughout the village. Mr. Buckwinkler
clarified that AT&T already has an agreement in place with the village, and these would
be new providers to the village if approved by the Village Board.

4. Peter Dombrowski, 307 E. Weathersfield Way
Mr. Dombrowski stated that during snow events when they come with heavy equipment
(front end loader) that they have hit the curb and broken up the concrete. Mr. Hall
explained that they have been working with the Plote drivers on training.
5. Robert Leesman, 1515 Syracuse Lane
Mr. Leesman gave a kudos to Engineering and Public Works for cleaning up the leaves in
the street.
6. Jill Mazurco, 1027 Argyle Court and Rich Witt, 419 Verde
Ms. Mazurco stated that cars are parked up to the corners of Thacker/Del Lago/Verde and
that you can’t see around them to make the turn. Ms. Mazurco is requesting a “no parking
sign from here to the corner” to eliminate the blind spots when turning. Ms. Mazurco stated
that there is also a van that is occasionally parked overnight on the street, resulting in poor
snowplow clearance. Ms. Mazurco stated that there was formerly a 2-hour parking limit
and no overnight parking in the neighborhood but in working with the Director of
Transportation, was informed these restrictions were removed in 2012.
Mr. Witt stated that there is also an issue with Conant High School students parking in the
neighborhood. Mr. Witt explained that they are speeding and parking on the street, leaving
their vehicles present throughout the day. Mr. Witt suggested parking stickers for the
residents of Del Lago and Tuscany, but was told it would be administratively burdensome.
Trustee Sullivan asked Chief Wolf if he was aware of the issues and Chief Wolf replied
that he knew Sergeant Parlberg was working on it.
Trustee Sullivan and Trustee Bieschke referred the parking issues in the area to the
Transportation Committee meeting for discussion.
7. Marilyn Pande, 501 Cottonwood
Ms. Pande stated that around the holidays there were still a lot of leaves around, so she
asked Serena (the village’s chatbot) if leaves were still being picked up and Serena replied
that they were as long as they were bagged. Ms. Pande stated that Serena gave
misinformation as yard waste pick up was done for the season and she is concerned that it
is giving bad information. Trustee Bieschke stated that AI is a great tool, but that it is not
foolproof. Trustee Bieschke stated that staff will look into it.
8. Mathew, General Manager of Skyzone Schaumburg
