COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL JANUARY 10, 2026 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM Present: Trustees Brian Bieschke, Jamie Clar, Mike LaRosa, Mark Madej, and Jack Sullivan Also Present: Andrew Buckwinkler, Assistant to the Village Manager Bill Wolf, Chief of Police Parth Joshi, Planning Manager Mike Hall, Director of Engineering and Public Works Sid Kenyon, Director of Transportation Trustee Sullivan introduced trustees and staff present and briefly explained the purpose of Coffee with the Council to those in attendance for the first time. 1. Carol Boyle, 437 Allonby Drive Ms. Boyle stated that the snowplowing has been superb. 2. Bobbi Sloan, 736 Fennel Court Ms. Sloan stated that her court was not plowed and she called to report it. Trustee Clar asked if it was done later and Ms. Sloan replied that it was done after she called. Trustee Sullivan stated that the courts are done by private contractors and there was an issue with their equipment that has been resolved. Ms. Sloan stated that Public Works plowed her street after the last snow event, but they just plowed the middle of the street. Mr. Hall explained that the village does not use the private contractors for snow events of less than two (2) inches and that the village’s crews will plow down the throat of the cul-de-sac and salt on their way out. Trustee Bieschke explained that the same process was used on his cul-de-sac during the small snow event. 3. Dave Slowik, 715 Sienna Drive Mr. Slowik asked when the village will get fiber as Roselle, Bartlett, and Streamwood already have fiber. Trustee Madej replied that AT&T is boring and putting fiber into the neighborhood and that they are currently working on the south end of the village. Trustee Madej stated that AT&T does plan on putting fiber across the entire Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates area. Trustee Madej stated that it is up to the utility companies’ to implement fiber as well as the village does not subsidize them. Mr. Slowik asked if the AT&T work was just for new developments in the village, or if older neighborhoods would be included. Trustee Madej replied that it was for the entire village. Mr. Buckwinkler added that other providers are engaged with the village moving towards a full buildouts of fiber and that the village is working with them on establishing a Master License Agreement to ensure quality infrastructure is incorporated throughout the village. Mr. Buckwinkler clarified that AT&T already has an agreement in place with the village, and these would be new providers to the village if approved by the Village Board. COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL JANUARY 10, 2026 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM 4. Peter Dombrowski, 307 E. Weathersfield Way Mr. Dombrowski stated that during snow events when they come with heavy equipment (front end loader) that they have hit the curb and broken up the concrete. Mr. Hall explained that they have been working with the Plote drivers on training. 5. Robert Leesman, 1515 Syracuse Lane Mr. Leesman gave a kudos to Engineering and Public Works for cleaning up the leaves in the street. 6. Jill Mazurco, 1027 Argyle Court and Rich Witt, 419 Verde Ms. Mazurco stated that cars are parked up to the corners of Thacker/Del Lago/Verde and that you can’t see around them to make the turn. Ms. Mazurco is requesting a “no parking sign from here to the corner” to eliminate the blind spots when turning. Ms. Mazurco stated that there is also a van that is occasionally parked overnight on the street, resulting in poor snowplow clearance. Ms. Mazurco stated that there was formerly a 2-hour parking limit and no overnight parking in the neighborhood but in working with the Director of Transportation, was informed these restrictions were removed in 2012. Mr. Witt stated that there is also an issue with Conant High School students parking in the neighborhood. Mr. Witt explained that they are speeding and parking on the street, leaving their vehicles present throughout the day. Mr. Witt suggested parking stickers for the residents of Del Lago and Tuscany, but was told it would be administratively burdensome. Trustee Sullivan asked Chief Wolf if he was aware of the issues and Chief Wolf replied that he knew Sergeant Parlberg was working on it. Trustee Sullivan and Trustee Bieschke referred the parking issues in the area to the Transportation Committee meeting for discussion. 7. Marilyn Pande, 501 Cottonwood Ms. Pande stated that around the holidays there were still a lot of leaves around, so she asked Serena (the village’s chatbot) if leaves were still being picked up and Serena replied that they were as long as they were bagged. Ms. Pande stated that Serena gave misinformation as yard waste pick up was done for the season and she is concerned that it is giving bad information. Trustee Bieschke stated that AI is a great tool, but that it is not foolproof. Trustee Bieschke stated that staff will look into it. 8. Mathew, General Manager of Skyzone Schaumburg Matthew introduced himself as the General Manager of Skyzone located at 580 Golf Road and gave a brief description of what the venue features.
