A. CALL TO ORDER
The City Council of The City of Seattle met in the Council Chamber in
City Hall in Seattle, Washington, on June 6, 2016, pursuant to the
provisions of the City Charter. The meeting was called to order at 2:02
p.m., with Council President Pro Tem Lisa Herbold presiding.
B. ROLL CALL

C. ADOPTION OF INTRODUCTION AND REFERRAL CALENDAR
IRC 66 June 06, 2016
ACTION 1:
Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction
and Referral Calendar.
ACTION 2:
Motion was made by Councilmember Sawant, duly seconded and
carried, to amend the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar by
introducing Resolution 31673, and by referring it to the Gender Equity,
Safe Communities, and New Americans Committee.
Resolution 31673, A RESOLUTION affirming the Seattle City Council’s
commitment to high quality locally produced broadcast news to
effectively inform the public in the case of emergencies.
ACTION 3:
Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction
and Referral Calendar as amended.
The Motion carried and the Introduction & Referral Calendar
(IRC) was adopted as amended by the following vote:

Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Agenda.
ACTION 2:
Motion was made by Councilmember Herbold, duly seconded and
carried, to amend the proposed Agenda by moving Item 15,
Appointment 00390, before Item 1, Council Bill 118698.
ACTION 3:
Motion was made by Councilmember Burgess, duly seconded and
carried, to amend the proposed Agenda by holding Agenda Item 7,
Council Bill 118701, until June 20, 2016.
Council Bill 118701, An Ordinance relating to the Ethics Code;
amending Sections 4.16.030 and 4.16.070 of the Seattle Municipal
Code to require City Councilmembers to disclose Financial interests in
legislative matters under consideration by the City Council prior to
participating in those matters, and creating a limited exception to the
requirement that City Councilmembers disqualify themselves from
participating in such matters.
ACTION 4:
Motion was made, duly seconded and carried, to adopt the proposed
Agenda as amended.
