CALL TO ORDER The City Council of The City of Seattle met in the Council Chamber in City Hall in Seattle, Washington, on January 30, 2017, pursuant to the provisions of the City Charter. ADOPTION OF INTRODUCTION AND REFERRAL CALENDAR Page 1 Full Council Meeting Minutes January 30, 2017 IRC 97 January 30, 2017 ACTION 1: Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar. ACTION 2: Motion was made by Councilmember Burgess, duly seconded and carried, to amend the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar by introducing Council Bill 118905 and Clerk File 314368, and by referring both items to the Affordable Housing, Neighborhoods, and Finance Committee. Council Bill 118905, AN ORDINANCE relating to strengthening The City of Seattle’s policies for conducting City business with partners that are committed to fair business practices; adding Chapter 20.46 to the Seattle Municipal Code; amending the revised City of Seattle Investment Policies adopted by Resolution 31525; and requesting the Mayor and Director of Finance and Administrative Services to take certain actions, including not renewing the Contract for Bank Depository Services with Wells Fargo Bank beyond the initial term and refraining from making new investments in Wells Fargo securities for a period of three years. ACTION 3: Motion was made by Councilmember González, duly seconded and carried, to amend the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar by changing the referral of item 2, Council Bill 118904, from the Full Council to the Gender Equity, Safe Communities, and New Americans Committee; and by changing the sponsor from Burgess to González. ACTION 4: Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar as amended. By unanimous consent, the Council Rules were suspended to allow Councilmember Juarez to present the Proclamation and to allow Marcellus Turner, City Librarian, Seattle Public Library, and Jessica Dorr, Deputy Director, Global Libraries at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to address the Council.
