CALL TO ORDER The City Council of The City of Seattle met in the Council Chamber in City Hall in Seattle, Washington, on May 8, 2017, pursuant to the provisions of the City Charter. ADOPTION OF INTRODUCTION AND REFERRAL CALENDAR Page 1 Full Council Meeting Minutes May 8, 2017 IRC 111 May 8, 2017 ACTION 1: Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar. ACTION 2: Motion was made by Councilmember Harrell, duly seconded and carried, to amend the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar by introducing Resolution 31750, and by referring it to the Full Council for adoption at today’s meeting. Resolution 31750, A RESOLUTION ratifying and confirming an emergency order permitting temporary night shelter at 1117 Northeast Boat Street. ACTION 3: Motion was made by Councilmember González, duly seconded and carried, to amend the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar by introducing Council Bill 118969, and by referring it to the Gender Equity, Safe Communities, and New Americans Committee. Council Bill 118969, AN ORDINANCE relating to civilian and community oversight of the police; adding a new Chapter 3.29 to the Seattle Municipal Code (SMC); recodifying Subchapters VII, VIII, and IX of Chapter 3.28 of the SMC as Subchapters I, II, and III of Chapter 3.29; amending or repealing sections in Chapters 3.28, 4.08, and 14.12 of the SMC; and concerning Ordinance 118482. ACTION 4: Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar as amended. ACTION 2: Motion was made by Councilmember Bagshaw, duly seconded and carried, to amend Resolution 31746, by substituting version 2a for version 1a, which includes a new Attachment 1. Res 31744 A RESOLUTION relating to the Seattle Sister Cities Program; recognizing the legacy of The City of Seattle’s relationship with the City of Mazatlán, Mexico, and declaring the designation of emeritus status to the sister city affiliation between The City of Seattle and the City of Mazatlán, Mexico; recognizing the importance to The City of Seattle of maintaining a sister city relationship with a city in Mexico; and lifting the moratorium on accepting applications for establishing new sister city affiliations for the limited purpose of accepting an application for the establishment of a new sister city affiliation with a city in Mexico.
