CALL TO ORDER The City Council of The City of Seattle met in Special Session in the Council Chamber in City Hall in Seattle, Washington, on October 5, 2017, pursuant to the provisions of the City Charter. The meeting was called to order at 9:34 a.m., with Council President Pro Tem Rob Johnson presiding. B. ROLL CALL Present: 5 - Bagshaw, González , Johnson, Juarez, Sawant Excused: 1 - Harrell Late Arrival: 2 - Herbold, O'Brien C. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion made, duly seconded and carried, to adopt the proposed agenda. Councilmember Herbold entered the Council Chamber at 9:36 a.m. Councilmember O'Brien entered the Council Chamber at 9:39 a.m. D. ITEM OF BUSINESS Executive Session to Evaluate the Qualifications of Candidates for Appointment to Elective Office (to fill the vacancy in City Council Position 8 previously held by Mayor Tim Burgess).* *Please note that Executive Sessions are closed to the public. At 9:36 a.m. Council President Pro Tem Johnson announced that the Council would convene in Executive Session to evaluate the qualifications of candidates for appointment to elective office.
