CALL TO ORDER The City Council of The City of Seattle met in the Council Chamber in City Hall in Seattle, Washington, on April 30, 2018, pursuant to the provisions of the City Charter. The meeting was called to order at 2:08 p.m., with Council President Harrell presiding. B. ROLL CALL Present: 8 - Bagshaw, González , Harrell, Johnson, Juarez, Mosqueda, O'Brien, Sawant Excused: 1 - Herbold Motion was made, duly seconded and carried, to excuse Councilmember Herbold from the April 30, 2018 Full Council meeting. C. ADOPTION OF INTRODUCTION AND REFERRAL CALENDAR Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes April 30, 2018 IRC 158 April 30, 2018 ACTION 1: Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar. ACTION 2: Motion was made by Councilmember Bagshaw, duly seconded and carried, to amend the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar by introducing Resolution 31813, and by referring it to the Full Council for consideration before Agenda item 1, Council Bill 119243, at today’s meeting. Resolution 31813, A RESOLUTION in support of the bid by The City of Seattle to host the National League of Cities 2024 or 2025 City Summit conference. ACTION 3: Motion was made and duly seconded to adopt the proposed Introduction and Referral Calendar as amended. The Motion carried, and the Introduction & Referral Calendar (IRC) was adopted as amended by the following vote: In Favor: 8 - Bagshaw, González , Harrell, Johnson, Juarez, Mosqueda, O'Brien, Sawant Opposed: None D. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion was made, duly seconded and carried, to adopt the proposed Agenda. E. PRESENTATIONS Councilmember Juarez presented a Proclamation recognizing May 5, 2018 to be the Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Native American Women and Girls in the City of Seattle. By unanimous consent, the Council Rules were suspended to allow Councilmember Juarez to present the Proclamation, and to allow members of the Native American Community to address the Council. G. CB 119243 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance 125544, correcting a clerical error regarding appropriating money to pay certain audited claims and ordering the payment thereof. Motion was made and duly seconded to pass Council Bill 119243. In Favor: 3 - González , Mosqueda, Johnson Opposed: None ACTION 1: By unanimous consent, Council Rule III.A.7, relating to amendments presented to the Full Council, was suspended to allow consideration of an amendment to Appointment 00990. ACTION 2: Motion was made by Councilmember González, duly seconded and carried, to amend Appointment 00990, Appointment Packet, by adding the Background Report Memorandum. ACTION 3: Motion was made and duly seconded to confirm Appointment 00990 as amended.
