CALL TO ORDER The City Council of The City of Seattle met in Special Session in the Council Chamber in City Hall in Seattle, Washington, on April 17, 2019, pursuant to the provisions of the City Charter. The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m., with Council President Harrell presiding. B. ROLL CALL Present: 8 - Bagshaw, González , Harrell, Herbold, Juarez, Mosqueda, O'Brien, Sawant C. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion was made, duly seconded and carried, to adopt the proposed Agenda. D. PRESENTATIONS Council Position 4 applicants were provided each three minutes to make a presentation to the Council in the following order: 1. Brooke Brod 2. Darby DuComb 3. Kathryn Gardow 4. David A. Goldberg 5. Jordan Goldwarg 6. Sherae Lascelles 7. Jay Lazerwitz 8. Abel Pacheco Jr. 9. Marjorie Press 10. Maritza Rivera 11. Luke Wigren Applicant presentations concluded at 6:19 p.m. The City Council then asked questions of each applicant. Page 2 City Council Agenda April 17, 2019 Notice of Seattle City Council Meeting on the Vacancy of Council Position 4 Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. City Council Chambers, City Hall, Floor 2 600 4th Avenue, Seattle WA 98104 The Seattle City Council will hold a special meeting as part of the Council Position 4 application process. At this meeting, applicants to fill Position 4 will be provided three minutes to present to the City Council, the Council will ask questions of the applicants, and members of the public will be provided an opportunity to comment on the applicants. Public Comment Information The public comment period will begin at the conclusion of the presentations. In the interest of time, members of groups, organizations or coalitions with similar interests will have the option to combine their presentations. Group presentations with four or more people will be provided up to five (5) minutes. Those wishing to provide public comment at the meeting must sign up on sheets provided outside the entry of the City Council Chambers beginning at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be cablecast live on Seattle Channel 21 and webcast at http://www.seattle.gov/council/watch-council-live. Application Process Information relating to the City Council vacancy process can be found on the Office of the City Clerk’s website http://www.seattle.gov/cityclerk/council-vacancy and in Chapter 3.93 of the Seattle Municipal Code. Page 3 City Council Agenda April 17, 2019 Pay Parking Pay parking is available in the SeaPark Garage located between Cherry and James Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues. Those attending the public hearing receive a discounted rate of $5.00. Notify the garage cashier that you attended the City Council public hearing and you will receive the special rate. Please note that this discount only applies to vehicles entering the garage after 4:00 p.m. and the garage closes at 10:00 p.m. Disabled parking spaces are available below City Hall for those with state-issued disabled parking permits.
