Public Hearing
The Seattle City Council Budget Committee will conduct a public
hearing to solicit public comment on: (1) the City’s 2017 General
Revenue Sources, including a possible property tax levy increase; and
(2) Mayor Edward B. Murray’s 2017 and 2018 Proposed Budgets.
The hearing will continue until all in-person comments have been
received. Individual comments will be limited to two (2) minutes or
less.

2017 General Revenue Sources & Mayor’s 2017 and 2018
Proposed Budgets

The Seattle City Council Budget Committee, chaired by
Councilmember Tim Burgess, will conduct a public hearing at City
Council Chambers on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, to solicit public
comment on: (1) the City’s 2017 General Revenue Sources, including
a possible property tax levy increase; and (2) Mayor Edward B.
Murray’s 2017 and 2018 Proposed Budgets.
The hearing begins at 5:30 p.m. and will continue until all in-person
comments have been received. Individual comments will be limited to
two (2) minutes or less.
Those wishing to provide public comment at the public hearings must
sign-up on sheets provided outside the entry of the City Council
Chambers beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Budget Committee hearing will
be cablecast live on Seattle Channel 21 and webcast live at
http://www.seattle.gov/council/watch-council-live.

The Mayor’s 2017 and 2018 Proposed Budgets and accompanying
2017-2022 Proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) are
available online at http://www.seattle.gov/financedepartment. A paper
copy of the Proposed Budget and CIP are available at the Central
Library. To purchase a printed copy of the Proposed Budget or CIP,
please contact Zebra Printing at (206) 223-1955.

Written Comments
Written comments on the Mayor’s 2017 and 2018 Proposed Budgets
are welcome up to the date the Council adopts the final budget (on or

before November 21, 2016) via: USPS mail to Councilmember Tim

Council@seattle.gov . All comments received are considered public
records.
Pay Parking
Pay parking is available in SeaPark Garage located between Cherry
and James Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues. Those attending the
budget public hearings will receive a discounted rate of five dollars.
Notify the garage cashier that you attended the City Council public
hearing to receive the special rate. Please note that this discount only
applies to vehicles entering the garage after 4:00 p.m. and the garage
closes at 11:00 p.m. Disabled parking spaces are available below City
Hall for those with state-issued disabled parking permits.

Childcare Provided
Parents or guardians attending the Budget Public Hearing and who
wish to utilize the complimentary childcare, please RSVP with
geri.morris@seattle.gov and check-in at City Council Reception 5 p.m.
through 6:00 p.m., the day of the public hearing. Childcare will be
provided by Angel’s Royal Academy.
