made a motion, seconded by Vice Chair Helene Levine to approve the Minutes of
Counsel Michae! M. Large the June 17, 2024, Regular Meeting. Motion carried 5 -0.
The Board reviewed the public safety selection process as a result of the
recruitment challenges in that most municipalities are vying for the same pool of
candidates. As such, the recruitment processes were expedited, additional

meetings were held to conduct interviews and to discuss and make
American Public Works Association recommendations for hire. Chief Barnes reported the Village has secured three
(APWA) Accreditation
slots at the Police Academy which will accommodate candidates who have

International (CFAI) successfully completed the recruitment process at this time. The Board agreed the
Gold Level Clean Air Counts meeting schedule along with the recruitment process will return to normalcy
Community beginning August 19, 2024.

As there was no further business for the Regular Meeting, Commissioner Potthast
Government Finance Officers
Association Certificate of made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Soco, to move into Executive Session.
Achievement for Excellence in Motion carried 5-0.
