Skokie Board of Health Meeting Minutes January 14, 2021 Present Ms. Dave Mr. Sood Dr. Drachler, Emeritus Mr. Usman Dr. Linn Ms. Varma Ms. Nickish-Dugan Dr. Vernon Dr. Kumar Dr. Werner, Chair Mr. Pandya Ms. Yau Ms. Shim Michael Charley, Staff A. Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Dr. Werner, Chairman. Dr. Werner reminded that the meeting is being recorded and read a statement that meetings will be held electronically until further notice per the State of Illinois Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation. Members of the public may submit questions to Mr. Michael Charley and they will be presented and read during the relevant portion of the meeting. B. Approval of Minutes: The minutes for the December 10, 2020 meeting were delayed and it was agreed that the board will approve them at the February 10, 2021 meeting. C. Introductions: Introduction was made to Mr. Charley by Mrs. Varma who was absent at the last meeting. Mrs. Varma is a nurse and has been the board for several years. D. COVID-19 Updates: Michael Charley: Mr. Charley reported COVID-19 updates: • 4,781 total COVID-19 cases in Skokie • 103 total COVID-19 related deaths • 28 average cases per day • The 7-day rolling average positivity rate is at 6.3% • Closed POD Vaccination Clinics has begun for 1a phase • Limited shipments of Pfizer and Moderna have been received • Vaccinations for phase 1b will begin in February • The new COVID-19 Hotline 847-779-7726 A brief Q&A followed on how notification and registration for general population appointments will be handled and second dose distribution guidelines. The presentation ended. E. Old/New Items of Business: Dr. Werner reported the letter about the ban of flavored tobacco products was sent to village management in October The Board voted to move forward on this imitative and present to the board for an ordinance to be drafted. F. Citizen Comments: No citizen comments to report. G.
