12665 MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Skokie, Cook County, Illinois held in the Council Chambers at 5127 Oakton Street at 8 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 Pledge of Allegiance led by the Fire Department Honor Guard. The Mayor called the meeting to order. The Clerk called the Roll. Those present were Trustee Perille, Roberts, Sutker, Bromberg, Shah, and Mayor Van Dusen. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. MOTION CARRIED * Approve, as submitted, minutes of regular meeting held October 15, 2012. Omnibus vote. * Approve Voucher List #12-FY13 of November 5, 2012. Omnibus vote. Appointments, Reappointments and Resignations. A. Village Clerk Marlene Williams swore in Kurtis Harms as Fire Captain. Mayor Van Dusen congratulated Captain Harms and he introduced his family and friends. B. Swearing in of the following personnel by the Board of Fire and Police Thomas Mannard. Michael Lorge was sworn in by former Corporation Counsel Judge Barbara M Meyer. Also in attendance were two former Corporation Counsels-Patrick Hanley and Judge Harvey Schwartz. Mr. Lorge introduced his wife Susie and expressed his appreciation to friends and mentors. Mayor Van Dusen thanked Assistant Henry Mueller who served as acting Corporation Counsel. *C. Ordinance 12-11-C-3948 Motion to approve an ordinance amending Chapter 118, Article I, Section 118-5 of the Skokie Village Code pertaining to definitions (2012-40P). Resolution 12-11-R-1199 Motion to adopt a resolution approving a plat of subdivision for property located at 4301 Kirk Street, Skokie, Illinois in an R2 Single-Family Residential district (2012-2S). An ordinance approving a plat of dedication for a portion of the property located at 7229 St. Louis Avenue, Skokie, Illinois in a B2 Commercial district. Plan Commission Case 2012-38P – Special Use Permit: 8120 Lawndale - Joey’s Movers and Trucking, Inc. Motion to lift Plan Commission Case 2012-38P from the table. Moved: Trustee Sutker Seconded: Trustee Roberts Motion to concur with Staff’s recommendation that relief be granted for a 2 space parking deficit, subject to an agreement that the ramp will be filled and converted to parking if Staff determines that a parking shortage develops in the future subject to all conditions. Plan Commission Case 2012-44P – Special Use Permit: 5129 Dempster Street – Child Day Care Center not in a Residence Motion to concur with the Plan Commission that the petitioner’s request for a special use permit for child day care not in a residence at 5125 Dempster be approved, subject to all conditions. And that relief be granted from the parking requirements in Section 118-212(a)(1) of the Skokie Village Code.
