MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Skokie, Cook County, Illinois held in the Council Chambers at 5127 Oakton Street at 8
p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016

The Clerk called the Roll. Those present were Roberts, Sutker, Ulrich, Bromberg, Klein, Gray-
Keeler and Mayor Van Dusen.

them for their achievements. She acknowledged the members of the Commission.

Howard Street Bike Trail project Local Public Agency Agreement for Federal participation.

Motion to adopt an ordinance establishing the compensation of the Mayor, Village Clerk and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Skokie to be elected April 4, 2017. This item is on the
consent agenda for second reading and adoption.

Motion to adopt an ordinance establishing the compensation of the Village Manager, Deputy
Village Clerk, Corporation Counsel and Assistant Corporation Counsels of the Village of Skokie.

A. Plan Commission Case 2016-13P – Zoning Chapter Amendment: Animal
Shelters and Outdoor Exercise Areas
Motion to concur with the Plan Commission that sections of Chapter 118, Zoning of the
Skokie Village Code regarding animal shelters and outdoor exercise areas be amended
subject to all conditions.

Main Street and 8343-8347 Niles Center Road (3-lot Planned Development)
Motion to concur with the Plan Commission that site plan approval for a 4-lot planned
development at 4927 & 4910-4930 Main Street and 8343-8347 Niles Center Rd be
approved subject to all conditions.
These residents spoke in favor of the proposed development.
Rob Paddor, Subaru, 3340 Oakton, Linda Gelb, 3836 from C.A.R.E., Gina Benedetto,
5244 George, Howard Meyer, Executive Director of Skokie Chamber, James Kardasis,
4638 Oakton, Steve Shreberg from Evanston, Carrie Uhler, 4311 Greenwood, William
Vossel, 4901 Golf and Benjamin Schueller, 4311 Greenwood. Ken Park, 9050 Ewing and
Asher Beederman 9050 Kildare spoke in favor of the proposed development.

(Outdoor Animal Exercise Area)
Motion to concur with the Plan Commission that the petitioner’s request for a special use
permit for an outdoor pet exercise area only in conjunction with an animal shelter at 4927
Main Street be approved subject to all conditions.
Linda Gelb from C.A.R.E answered questions from the Board.
