MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Skokie, Cook County, Illinois held in the Council Chambers at 5127 Oakton Street at 8
p.m. on Monday September 18, 2017
Pledge of Allegiance led by Village Clerk Pramod Shah.
The Clerk called the Roll. Those present were Roberts, Sutker, Ulrich, Bromberg, Klein, Gray-
Keeler and Mayor Van Dusen.

Mayor Van Dusen read a Proclamation observing Filipino American History Month with
appropriate programs and activities. The Proclamation was presented to Jelly Carandang
who thanked the Village for support to the community.

Acting Fire Chief Ken Borre introduced Derek Bergsten who presented the Skokie Fire
Department Reaccreditation.

Report of the Village Manager.
A. Commercial Corridor Storefront Enhancement Program: 4949 Oakton Street.

Motion to adopt a resolution approving and authorizing an Agreement with the Chicago Transit

E. Executive Session
Motion to approve the request for an Executive Session pursuant to 2.C11 for review and
discussion of pending litigation.

Citizen Comments.
Courtney Ivaska, 8909 Forestview Rd, spoke about a possibility of a crossing guard at
Grove and East Prairie Rd.
Katie Gudgel, 5155 Brown Street spoke about the Open Houses on the proposed mixed
use development at the northwest corner of Lincoln Avenue and Oakton St.
Mayor Van Dusen commented on her concerns about the proposed project.
Rebecca Poulos, 8939 Niles Center Rd. spoke about her positive experiences as a new
resident of the Village of Skokie.

A Closed Session was held in the main floor conference room at 8:50 p.m. Those present were
Mayor Van Dusen, Clerk Shah, Trustees Roberts, Sutker, Ulrich, Bromberg, Klein and Gray-
Keeler. Also present were Village Manager Lockerby, Corporation Counsel Lorge and Assistant
Corporation Counsel McCarthy. The meeting ended at 9:10 p.m.
