13184 MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Skokie, Cook County, Illinois held in the Council Chambers at 5127 Oakton Street at 8 p.m. on Tuesday May 22, 2018 Pledge of Allegiance led by Brownie Troop 42163 from Jane Stenson School. The Mayor called the meeting to order. The Deputy Clerk called the Roll. Those present were Roberts, Sutker Ulrich, Bromberg, Klein, Gray-Keeler and Mayor Van Dusen. Recognition Amelia “Emi” Dobek – Generation Beyond Contest Winner Emi Dobek won the Generation Beyond Contest in Washington D.C. The contest, sponsored by Discovery Education & Lockheed Martin Aerospace Corporation chose her project for its innovation and creativity. Ordinance 18-5-C-4377 Motion to adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 14, Article III, Section 14-61, of the Skokie Village Code pertaining to amusement machines. Plan Commission Case 2017-52P – Zoning Map Amendment: 9200 Skokie Boulevard Motion to concur with the Plan Commission that the petitioner’s request to change the zoning district for 9200 Skokie from B1 Service Commercial to B3 Business be approved subject to all conditions. Plan Commission Case 2017-53P – Subdivision: 9200 Skokie Boulevard Motion to concur with the Plan Commission’s request to resubdivide 14 existing lots into 1 new lot at 9200 Skokie Blvd. with a 5.00 foot-wide right-of-way dedication along Gross Point Road subject to all conditions. Plan Commission Case 2017-54P – Site Plan Approval: 9208 Skokie Boulevard Motion to concur with the Plan Commission that the petitioner’s request for site plan approval for a 1-lot planned development at 9208 Skokie Blvd in a B3 Business zoning district be approved subject to all conditions. Niles Township Trustee Bonnie Ognisanti 5328 Arcadia and Stephanie Geisler, 5230 Suffield Terrace, spoke about banning use of plastic bags. Rebecca Abraham, 7906 Lowell spoke about banning all single use plastics.
