SKOKIE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16, 2022 PRESENT: Chairperson Paul Pitalis, Police Chief Brian Baker, Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Jagman, Marcie Claus, Fire Chief Jeff Hoeflich, Mitchell Kushner, Trustee Alison Pure-Slovin, Melissa Villegas, Deputy Fire Chief Nicholas C. Eschner, Howard Rosenburg, Dennis Rizo, Director of Engineering Russ Rietveld EXCUSED: Cornell Collins, Paul Kruszynski, Vice Chair Mark Penning, Director of Public Works Max Slankard, Linda Perlin, Trustee Edie Sue Sutker, Senior Engineer Samantha Maximilian ABSENT: Daniel Fink, Jr., Earl Nicholas, Frank Ippolito, Alicia Case, Edward McCarthy, Leslie Post-Weissinger, Joel Reyes, Kenneth Mantel, Bryant Smith CALL TO ORDER AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Chairperson Paul Pitalis called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. The minutes of the February 16th meeting were approved. POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT Chief Baker presented the Police Department report. Statistics are normal compared to the historical five year average, but up from last year due to COVID related decrease. QA discussion followed. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT The Fire Department report was presented by Deputy Chief Eschner and Chief Hoeflich. An overview of the Fire Department as well as Emergency and Non-Emergency Services was presented by Chief Hoeflich and Deputy Chiefs Eschner and Jagman. QA discussion followed. ENGINEERING REPORT Russ Rietveld provided an update on various Engineering Division activities and projects for the 2022 construction season. QA discussion followed. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS None. ADJOURNMENT At 8:28 p.m. a motion was made to adjourn which was seconded and then passed unanimously.
