Skokie Telecommunications and Technology (STAT) Commission Meeting Minutes Date: Tuesday, February 27, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. Location: Skokie Village Hall Conference Room A Attendees: Scott Shamberg, Jimmy Gonzalez, Richard Owen, Alex Franz, Christopher Oh, Baccet Levy, Ken Grossman and Avi Nutkis. Absent: Sam Corcione, Vincent Giovannone, and Syed Mahmood. 1. Welcome & Introductions Scott called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Motion by Avi Nutkis. Seconded by Ken Grossman. All approved. 2. Approve minutes from Tuesday, November 28, 2023 A motion was made by Jimmy Gonzalez and was seconded by Avi Nutkis. All approved. 3. Discussion Higher Priority Programming  Cyber Security Program – Tier 1 Avi will reach out to the Police Department in the next week or two to schedule a date for the event. He will cc Alex on the email.  Program on AI & ChatGPT – Tier 1 Alex explained that the event will be on Thursday, March 14 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Petty Auditorium. Avi and Baccet will meet with their presenters prior to the event and have questions prepared to ask the panel.  Survey Residents & Businesses on Technology Questions – Tier 1 Alex will bring copies of the consolidated survey response data to the next meeting. The group agreed that this will be an annual survey.  Technological Excellence Award – Tier 1 Alex explained that as of the meeting, no award submissions have been received.  STAT Website – How the Village is Using Tech – Tier 1 Alex explained that the videos will be developed in May/June.  Home Medical Technology – Tier 1 No update.  Science Fair – Tier 1 Sam emailed Alex and will pick up the certificate for the award winner the Friday before the event. The award winner will be honored at a Board meeting in April or May depending on their availability.  Technology Glossary – Tier 1 Avi will create a Google Doc where the group can add items.  Spring Greening The event will be on April 14 from 10 am – 1:45 pm. The group agreed that the morning time slot, which is from 9 am -12 pm, works best. Alex explained that members can come and go throughout the event so long as the total number of promised volunteers does not change. 4. Discussion Lower Priority Programming  Program About Navigation Aggressive Sales Tactics – Tier 2 There was nothing new to report.  Drone Photography – Tier 2 There was nothing new to report.  CUB Saver Event – Tier 2 Sam will contact CUB to determine a date. 5. New Business 6. Next Meeting The next meeting will be on March 26, 2024. 7. Adjourn Motion by Baccet Levy. Seconded by Avi Nutkis.

Sam, Rich, and tentatively Baccet, to attend.  Technology Glossary: Avi Lead/Syed Creating a glossary of technology and posting it to the STAT webpage. 5. Discussion Lower Priority Programming  A program about navigating Aggressive sales tactics: Chris/Avi Christopher initiated a discussion on the aggressive sales tactics of phone providers and how the Commission can help educate residents on these tactics and how to best navigate them.  A collaboration on a drone photography event: Jimmy/TBD Potentially a drone photo contest, with the Fine Arts Commission  Spring Greening event TBD/TBD Event on April 14, 9 am -12 pm. Members can came and go during that timeframe. Determine count of volunteers. 6. New Business 7. Adjourn
