Meeting Minutes
Date: February 25, 2025
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Skokie Village Hall
Conference Room A
Attendees: Scott Shamberg, Alex Franz, Ken Grossman, Christopher Oh, David Coyne,
Michael Lamprecht, Michael Calder, Ujjval Patel, Jimmy Gonzalez and Avi Nutkis. Also
present was a local student. Absent: Richard Owen and Syed Mahmood.
1. Call to Order
Scott called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Motion by Avi Nutkis. Seconded by
Ken Grossman. All approved.
2. Welcome and Introductions
3. Approve minutes from November 19, 2024 and January 28, 2025.
November 19, 2024 Minutes: Motion by Michael Lamprecht. Seconded by
Michael Calder.
January 28, 2025 Minutes: Motion by Christopher Oh. Seconded by Avi Nutkis.
4. Discussion Higher Priority Programming
Home Medical Technology – Tier 1
Scott advised that it would be best to build a framework for the event and
then engage possible event partners afterwards. Jimmy explained that there
may be local partners available. Alex will assist with contacts at other
agencies.
Smart Home Technology – Tier 1
The group discussed the pros and cons of having the event in person or virtual.
The group agreed on virtual some time in April. Avi explained that he might
have a speaker. Alex advised that a demo of the technology would likely be
most interesting for attendees. Oakton Community College also may have
resources available.
STAT Website – How the Village is Using Tech – Tier 1
Alex will resume filming in the Spring.
Technology Glossary – Tier 1
Avi informed the group that 39 items have been submitted so far and will get
Alex a final copy. The group agreed to continue to add items.
Program About Navigation Aggressive Sales Tactics – Tier 1
Michael L., will have a draft of the one pager available at the next meeting.
Drone Photography – Tier 1
When the Fine Arts Commission begins planning their event, they will contact
Jimmy.
General AI Program – Tier 1
Ujjval explained that the team has prepared a 45 minute presentation for the
event and are targeting a May date.
Business AI Program – Tier 1
Ujjval and David have contacted and are developing the event.
Program on new technology in cars
The group will continue to meet and is targeting a July/August date.
Cybersecurity
Avi explained that the event is tentatively scheduled for May 1 and will reach
out to the police to solidify the date and location.
5. Discussion Lower Priority Programming
Spring Greening
The group discussed attendance at the 2025 Spring Greening. Alex informed
the group that the event is April 6 from 10 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Alex will contact the
Park District and reach out to the STAT members not present to see if they are
interested. Michael L, Michael C, Scott S., Chris O., and Ujjval P. volunteered to
participate. Avi N. might be able to participate.
A table at the Farmers’ Market that could rotate amongst commissioners and
Village Staff
Once a date is selected, Alex will print off QR code sheets and other materials.
Science Fair
Jimmy reiterated that the event will be on March 8 at Wheeling High School
and will send Alex the final details. Alex reminded those that are attending to
contact prior to the fair.
Consumer as the Product
Michael C. created a draft PowerPoint with his ideas and will share with Ujjval
and Rich.
Social Media Literacy
Ujjval created an outline for the program. The program will center around
Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and the common scams. Michael C.
volunteered to help. Avi offered to assist with security and privacy elements.
