Call to Order 5:00 PM Meeting called to order on November 14, 2019 at City Hall -- Room 220, 36 Court Street, Springfield, MA. II. Approval of Minutes Committee Member Bishop Talbert Swann made a motion to approve the public minutes of the meeting on September 24, 2019. Motion was seconded by Committee Member Vanessa Otero with a unanimous vote to approve. IV. Public Speak Out No members of the public were present. Committee Member Denise Jordan made a motion to proceed with the agenda and revisit the public speak out if members of the public arrived. Motion was seconded by Committee Member Vanessa Otero with a unanimous vote to approve. V. New Business A. Nomination and Approval of Committee Vice Chair Committee Member Jose Claudio made a motion to select Committee Member Vanessa Otero as Vice Chair. Springfield as a Visitor and Convention Destination Mary Kay Wydra, President of the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau and Michele Goldberg, Director of Marketing came before the committee to give a presentation on explain the work they do and how they interact with the public and businesses in the area. C. Review and Discussion of MGM 2018 Regional Tourism Marketing Plan Jose Delgado and Saverio Mancini of MGM Springfield appeared before the committee to review the 2018 regional Tourism Marketing Plan. Mr. Delgado and Mr. Mancini provided the committee with stats for events MGM Springfield had in the city since they opened. They also gave the committee an overview upcoming events. D. Review and Discussion of May 2018 Economic Development Strategy for Downtown Springfield Chief Development Officer Timothy Sheehan made a presentation to the committee and reviewed the Implementation Blueprint and economic strategy for downtown Springfield. VI. All Other Matters Properly Before the Board Committee Member Bishop Talbert Swan asked for MGM Springfield to come before the committee to give an update on metrics listed in the Host Community Agreement. Motion to adjourn by Committee Member Leo Florian. Motion was seconded by Committee Member Jose Claudio with all voting in the affirmative.
