Discussion was held on the Freshwater Fish Consumption Advisory. The Park Department has placed signs up to warn the public of what they may be consuming. Many people fish the Springfield waterways to eat the fish in order to save money. An ordinance would help protect the public of these dangers. Councilor Marcus Williams made a motion to support this issue and Councilor Edwards seconded the motion to send to the full Council Discussion was held on the Freshwater Fish Consumption Advisory. The discussion on the marijuana dispensary went back and forth with Attorney Antonucci, who represents the Hampden Care Facility and the Health and Human Services sub-committee. The Council by a vote of 3-0 to decide against issuing any recommendation on the proposed agreement negotiated between the developer, Hampden Care Facility and city officials representing Mayor Sarno. They offered to reduce its right to be the designated sole dispensary in Springfield from a ten year period to a five term, with an option to renew. Security of the facility was also discussed. The facility if passed would be located at 506 Cottage Street. Councilors Gomez, M. Williams and Edwards decided to send this item for vote to the full Council. In attendance: Councilors Edwards, Gomez, Marcus Williams, Ramos, Walsh, Hurst and Allen. Attorney Davis, Pikula and Helen Caulton and Edward Brunton from the Park Department.
