Public Portion CITY OF SPRINGFIELD Taxi & Livery Commission Meeting of March 10, 2020 MINUTES The meeting was called to order on March 10, 2020, at 4:15p.m. Commissioners James Brown, Daniel Baro, and John Taylor were present. Commissioners Henry Payne and Robert Jones were absent. The meeting was held at” Springfield City Hall, 36 Court Street, Room 310, Springfield, MA. NEW BUSINESS FIRST order of business- Approval of Minutes: Approval of Minutes for the Taxi and Livery Commission Hearing held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Taxi and Livery Commission Page 1 Printed 4/1/2020 Regular Minutes March 10, 2020 Minutes were unavailable. Executive Session: A motion to go into executive session due to the nature of review (background checks) was made by Commissioner Baro. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Dunn, and was unanimously approved. The Commission will go into Executive Session- To discuss the reputation, character, physical condition or mental health, rather than professional competence, of an individual, or to discuss the discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual. SECOND order of business: Review- Denial of Taxi Application for Essam Aliabdelaal (Failure of Background Check). Applicant did not appear. After discussion: No action taken. Open Session: Commissioner Brown made a motion to end executive session and resume open session. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Baro and unanimously approved.
