Council of Churches on E Division
Members present: Brandy Harris, Bria Coale, Dr. Christy Davis, Amy Chenoweth
Advisory present: Jaimie Trussell, Callie Carroll, Kimberly Shinn- Brown, Chris Jarratt, Dr. Doug
McNeal, Karen Kunkel, Missy Riley, Dr. Kristen Thompson, Jessica Daugherty
Guests: staff from COC and pastor Ken Chumbley
Meeting began at 8 am with a thorough presentation of services provided by Council of Churches.
The COC relocated 3 years ago to a former SRC building. Extensive remodeling allowing for more
space for Crosslines the regions food pantry. Safe to Sleep is currently being housed at a church
and will be relocated over in a portion of the building after construction is complete.
Jaimie showed where the funding comes for Council of Churches. Reading and Math buddies
program was outlines with many of the Mayor’s Commission members participating in that
program over the years.
Much more of an emphasis on case management for families and individuals seeking services.
After her presentation we took a tour of the facility. The current set-up allows for all staff to be
together and case management to be more accessible to clients.
Next meeting will at Mercy to see the Health Academy (8th graders at Choice program who plan to
pursue Medical and Health Sciences)
