22 RES 13-1967 Declaring Wednesday, December 11, 2013 as Mark Hughes' Disability
Viewpoints Day in the City of Saint Paul.
Councilmember Thune read the resolution, and played a video clip about Mr. Hughes'
local TV program Disability Viewpoints. He noted Mr. Hughes' contributions to
accessibility issues in St. Paul. Mr. Hughes made brief comments, thanking the
Council and the Mayor's Advisory Committee on People with Disabilities. He noted a
new program allowing persons with disabilities to submit emergency information to be
entered into the Ramsey County Dispatch System.

23 RES 13-1927 Declaring December 12, 2013 to be Jill Marie Gugisberg Wall Day in
the City of St. Paul.
Councilmember Bostrom spoke about the success of the aerospace program at
Farnsworth and its expansion into the old Cleveland Junior High building. He said
Ms. Wall had been a driving force behind the success and the expansion , and he
acknowledged Principal Hamilton Bell and the staff. He said the success of the
program had led to the donation by Federal Express of an retired airplane, which was
kept at the downtown airport and used as a laboratory. He said Arcade was
becoming an academic corridor with Johnson Achievement Plus , the two Farnsworth
campuses, and Johnson High School. He invited Ms. Wall to the podium and he read
the resolution. Ms. Wall made brief comments, thanking the Council, and
acknowledging the staff, parents, corporate partners, and students. Councilmember
Bostrom moved approval of the resolution.

iPads to review the files during the meeting. Using the iPad greatly reduces costs since most
agendas, including the documents attached to files, are over 1000 pages when printed.
