26 RES 14-2084 Approving the HRA budget for the Fiscal Year 2015 and the levying of
the Housing and Redevelopment 2015 tax.
Lantry said there was a good discussion on the following budget items, but would like
Alexandra Iverson (City Council Budget Analyst) to give a quick synopsis. All are
being adopted because of changes the Council had. They will vote on the
attachments separately.
Iverson said the resolutions will complete the adoption of the 2015 budget. There are
$1.1 Million for a ladder truck in the fire department; $300,000 for library materials;
$500,000 for RiverCentre parking ramp repairs; $50,000 for the Children's Museum
expansion; and $25,000 for pool fee assistance. All of this involves the HRA
(Housing and Redevelopment Authority), library, and the City budget. We have freed
up general fund dollars by paying for parking meter repair and replacement with
parking revenue. The General Fund dollars will provide $400,000 for additional
library hours which include Sunday hours for the Merriam Park branch and evening
hours at seven other branches.
Lantry asked about the total on the library hours piece. Iverson responded $400,000
total.
(No further questions to Iverson.)

28 RES 14-2075 Approving the 2015 City Tax Levy.
(A vote was taken and then this item was reconsidered.)
Lantry said this item needs to be reconsidered because of the tax levy: We need to
confirm the vote in September by adding the library levy to pay for those hours. They
forgot to call for the amendment on that so the numbers match the action taken in
September and the library board.
