FOR DISCUSSION
10 RES 15-943 Authorizing Como Dockside, LLC to use the Department of Parks and
Recreation's Liquor licenses for the Como Lakeside Pavilion.
Councilmember Bostrom asked for an explanation of exactly how this would work
with a private business on City property. Deputy City Attorney Gerald Hendrickson
said he didn't know the specifics but it was common for the golf courses, for instance,
to be working off the City's license. Councilmember Bostrom asked for a one week
layover to get a staff report. Council President Stark said it was his understanding
that there was already a license for the operator of the golf course which was
essentially across the street and this was essentially using the same license.
Councilmember Thune saId he didn't think it was anything to worry about.
Councilmember Bostrom said he was just looking for a little explanation as to how it
worked. Councilmember Thune said it was like the golf courses or the ballpark, and
the expansion outdoors was like with anyone else. He said he didn't think the
Council should hold it over. Councilmember Bostrom said he wouldn't request a
layover but asked for a report from staff on how it worked for City liquor license to
cover a private business. He moved approval of the resolution.
