Department of Safety and Inspections Director Ricardo Cervantes made brief
comments. He acknowledged staff members Jim Williamette, Steve Ubl, and Angie
Wiese for their work. Mr. Williamette made brief comments.
Councilmember Henningson moved approval of the resolution.

21 RES 18-529 Authorizing a professional services contract with MZA+Co for lobbying
services related to Community First Police Reform.
Councilmember Noecker noted that effective date was March 19, 2018. She said she
had requested that someone from the Mayor's office be present to answer questions,
but it doidn't look like anyone was present. She said she was going to vote against the
resolution; it was problematic that the Council would be rubberstamping something
that had already taken place.
Councilmember Prince spoke in support of the motion.
Council President Brendmoen said she appreciated taking it off the Consent Agenda
and felt the Council should see these before they because effective. She said she
supported the contract and the extra help Capitol.
Councilmember Tolbert moved approval of the resolution.

There was discussion among the Council members about the potential impact of not
approving the contract.

Sunday, Liquor On Sale - 2 AM Closing, Liquor Outdoor Service Area
(Patio), Entertainment (B), and Gambling Location licenses at 825
Jefferson Avenue.
Councilmember Noecker said this was a new proprietor and hopefully new beginning
for the establishment, and she had heard great reports about the new proprietor. She
said she was adding a condition to call on DSI to inspect the premises no later than 30
days after the license was issued.

City Council Meeting Agenda May 9, 2018
Council Meeting Information
The City Council is paperless which saves the environment and reduces expenses. The
agendas and Council files are all available on the Web (see below). Council members use
iPads to review the files during the meeting. Using the iPad greatly reduces costs since most
agendas, including the documents attached to files, are over 1000 pages when printed.

Meetings are available on the Council's website. Email notification and web feeds (RSS) of
newly released minutes, agendas, and meetings are available by subscription. Visit
www.stpaul.gov/council for meeting videos and updated copies of the agendas, minutes, and
supporting documents.
Cable
Meetings are live on St Paul Channel 18 and replayed on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., Saturdays at
12:30 p.m., and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. (Subject to change)
