a. Approval of Meeting Minutes from April 22, 2026
- Motion by John, second by Darryl, approved by all
6. New Business
a. Fundraising for Jefferson Pool Renovations
- The Village Board approved the plan to start looking at a new pool. We will need to start
seeking out grants and other opportunities while being creative (OSLAD Grant).
- John asked if we will be spear heading the operation.
- Trustee Alfano mentions we are the face of doing this.
- Can we start to get a budget and what funds we have started?
- Reach out to other districts and see how they raised money
- Is there a potential for sponsorship
b. Villa Fest Volunteer Discussion
- Villa Fest is going to be a one day event on 8/22. We are looking for volunteers for this
event. There will be a link on the website soon.
c. Commissioner Vacancy
- Tammy Henderson has served her term and decided to not renew. We now have a
vacancy. Please go online to fill out an application. The process will go through the
Village Board.
7. Unfinished Business
a. Event Promotion for Lufkin Park Family Entertainment Series
- Both events are planned. The first event is June 2 from 12-1:30pm. This is an open mic
event so come out and enjoy.
- Reach out to Lily for social media posts and photos from the event
- Sue will reach out to Villa Parks Got Talent participants to see if they would like to come
out
b. Sports Swap Updates
- Sports swap will be Saturday August 8th 10am-2pm. Deliveries will be accepted on
Friday August 7th from 5-7pm. Go Green Villa Park will be helping out at this event.

- Tri Town YMCA should be considered for anything left.
c. Jefferson Pool Season 2026 Updates
- Pool opens Saturday, early bird rate is June 21.
- Learn to Swim class starts June 15.
d. Summer Open Gym Schedule
- Can we find a way to host open gyms during the day of June and July while kids are at
the pool or on field trips.
8. Commissioner Comments
- John- Shoutout to VPs Got Talent for a cool experience
- Darryl- Enjoyed VPs Got Talent. And enjoyed the variety of acts.
9. Chairperson Comments
- Thanks to Tammy for her service. If anyone is interested in joining the commission
10. Village Board Liaison Comments
- Asks that we reach out to Lily and Riley to always get our events into our calendar.
- Heard great things about the Talent Show and looks forward to future events.
- Can we reach out to former volunteers from Summer Fest.
11. Staff Liaison Comments
- Had a lot of people help out for VPs Got Talent so thanks to them. Was able to bring in
sponsors to help make it possible.
- On June 6/7 there is a play based on Alice In Wonderland. We have 29 kids performing.
- Spring soccer is finishing up with 220
- Mom/son had 29 sign up.
- Bike/Safety had 36 signed up with volunteers.
- Janet to took a group of seniors to see Hairspray
- 357 participants in April
- Pre school gradation
- 83 kids signed up for Mariners swim team
- Summer camp starts June 1
