WORK SESSION 5:30 PM
Work Sessions are intended to provide Council Members with the opportunity to study issues and analyze
information in preparation for future Council meetings. All proposed items will be scheduled for a decision at a
future council meeting.
A. Agency Meetings
The City Council will temporarily recess the Work Session to convene the Fairway Special
Service Recreation District, Municipal Building Authority, and the Redevelopment Agency
for the purpose of adopting and amending budgets.
B. Moderate Housing Discussion
Council will review and discuss strategies to include in the Moderate Housing Report due to
the state by October 1, 2022
C. Short Term Rentals / Boarding House Discussion
Council will review and discuss code for Short Term Rentals in West Jordan City

Comments should be directed to the Council Chair and commenters should not expect any debate with or
responses from the City Council, Mayor, or City Staff. However, as a point of personal privilege Council
Members, the Mayor, and Staff may respond to public comments if recognized by the Council Chair. Members
of the City Council strive to create a respectful and professional decorum during Council Meetings so that the
meeting can be conducted in an orderly, efficient, effective, and dignified manner. It is our desire that each
person attending a City Council meeting feel safe, respected, and comfortable participating in their
government. We hope that commenters will have that same goal and strive to do their best to keep comments
respectful, professional, and free from profanity, personal attacks, and indecency. When addressing the

Ordinance No. 22-35 a General Land Use Map Amendment for approximately 30 acres
from Professional Office, Medium Density Residential, Neighborhood Commercial, and
Parks and Open Land designations to Medium Density Residential, Neighborhood
Commercial, Parks and Open Land in an existing P-C (ZC) Zone
e. Consider Ordinance No. 22-32 amending the 2009 West Jordan City Code enacting Pet
Boarding as a definition and conditional use in certain Commercial and IOZ Zones, and
related provisions; Section 13-5E-3 and 13-6K-4, and the “Kennel” and “Pet Boarding”
definitions in Section 13-2-3
f. Consider approving Resolution No. 22-021 approving a substantial amendment to the
Program Year 2019 Annual Action Plan for CARES Act (Senior Meals Program) funds and
authorizing the Mayor to sign associated agreements

• Consider Ordinance No. 22-30 amending the 2009 West Jordan City Code Title 8, Chapter 14,
Section 7 (Grave Decorations) and 8-14-8 (Markers and Monuments)
• Consider Resolution No. 22-028 providing advice and consent to appoint Reverend Philip Rogers
to serve on the Diversity Committee

Unfinished Business Items are matters that have been introduced that remain unresolved. Updates are listed
to assist in planning or resolution.
• Veteran’s Memorial Park Master Plan – introduced to Council during a Work Session on
February 9, 2022. Currently with Administration.
• West Jordan Cultural Arts Society Contract Revision – WJCAS reported to Council on April
13, 2022. Council discussed contract with WJCAS further during a Work Session on April 27,
2022 and requested contract revisions. Currently with Administration.
• Welby West Master Development Agreement and General Plan Land Use Map
Amendment – brought to Council as New Business on May 11, 2022. Held a public hearing
on May 25, 2022 which was continued to June 8, 2022. The item was then continued to no
later than September 30, 2022. Currently with Community Development.
