VII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Department Awards
Chief Gruen recognized Sgt. Scott Bukovic for 20 consecutive years of
dedicated service in the community and the department.
Chief Gruen recognized the following staff with departmental awards for their
outstanding service and accomplishments:
1) Ofc. Robert Arndt received the Felony Arrest Commendation for his
response to an incident that occurred on July 22, 2025.
2) Ofc. Kamil Broda received the Felony Arrest Commendation for his
response to an incident that occurred on August 30, 2025.
3) Ofc. Bartlomiej Broda received the Life Saving Award for his response to
an incident that occurred on September 15, 2025.
4) Mr. Jim Bartel received the Chief's Recognition Commendation for
volunteering in support of the Westmont Citizens' Police Academy since
2012.
B. Swearing-in Ceremony
Mayor Nero conducted oaths for the following Police Department staff:
1) Shane Pollina and Cesar Chaidez were sworn in as Police Officers.
2) Jeremy Durst was sworn in as Police Sergeant.

A. Finance Director Altic reviewed and responded to follow-up questions from the
November 13 budget workshop (see attachment).
B. Director Altic also presented the property tax levy slides (see attachment) that will
be discussed at the next Village board meeting.
