Band Commission

WHEATON MUNICIPAL BAND COMMISSION Monday-December 11, 2023 5:00PM Call to order Meeting called to order at 5:1SPM-Dottie Mackie, Anna Orland, Don Westlake, and John Dalby were present at the meeting. Susan Brinkman was absent. Don Cavalli was present via telephone. Agenda Items: -Bylaws of City have changed, but Dottie can remain as Commissioner Until her term is up. New Officers: Vice Commissioner - Anna Orland DDS Secretary- Susan Brinkman -Midwest Concert clinic - December 20, 2023-report by Don Cavalli-WMS President Don Westlake and Susan Brinkman attended. -Season Planning with Bruce Moss will begin in January with the WMB Board -First concert is June 6, 2024 -Wiebergs donated a large sum of money to the Friends of the Band. It will be used to buy new uniforms which are very badly needed. Weiberg's will also be added as a sponsor in the program this summer. -Chicago symphony enjoyed the WMB and may join them this summer. -Pete Friedman will continue as announcer this summer. He gets 2 weeks off each season, per his contract. Peter Lipari will be the substitute announcer for the 2 weeks that Pete Friedman will be off. -The next meeting will be planned for sometime in the spring.
