Minutes - Wheaton Bicycle Advisory Committee Subcommittee of the Environmental Improvement Commission September 16 2015, 7:00pm ​ruce Berenschot, Jerry Hoffman, Jim, Knasel, Therese Kushman, Rita Nathanson, Carrie Provost, Karen In Attendance: B Saad ​arrie moved to approve the minutes and Jerry seconded. The minutes are approved. Approval of Minutes: C Walk/Bike to School: O ​ctober 7 is Bike to School. As of today four schools are participating - Whittier, Hawthorne, Lincoln, and Franklin. We will work with school PTA’s to take ownership of this event and spread participation. Information has been submitted to District 200 and will hopefully be shared in the weekly newsletter. Police Bike Project: T​he committee has looked at the bikes in the police department’s pound and is interested in working with them to clean and repair bikes for donation to Wheaton residents. We are working with the police department and developing a plan which includes a place to the work, acquiring supplies, and finding bike mechanics willing to donate their time. ​ext ride - October 17 at 10:30a. Group Rides: N Planning for 2016: T​he committee considered items to be used for handouts, PR, and information. The committee also considered applying for an Illinois Prairie Path membership. We discussed our mission and that it might need to be revisited. We considered multiple activities, which require further discussion, to promote safe bicycling in Wheaton. ​ctober 21st, 7:00pm Next Public Bike Committee Meeting: O Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm
