December 16, 2020 7:00 pm Virtual Meeting via Zoom Attendees: Michelle Dunlap, Alyse Kondrat, Janet Gellert, Nancy Allured,Bob Van Valzah, Rita Nathanson, Bill Nieman, Laurel Salvador (minutes recorder) I. Call to Order Alyse Kondrat called the meeting to order at 7:05 II. Public Comment None III. Approval of Minutes August meeting minutes approval: motion proposed by Nancy, seconded by Michelle , unanimous approval. November meeting minutes approval: motion proposed by Bob, seconded by Laurel, unanimous approval IV. Chair Report Alyse reported on QR code printing by Alpha Graphics, $46, black and white stickers for the approximately 500 printed maps in possession of the committee. The QR code stickers will be ready to pick up by 12/31/2020 and will be placed on the maps by committee members with Alyse coordinating effort. Alyse contacted John Duguay with communication procedures with the committee to formalize communication through one primary contact. V. Ongoing Business IPP Wheaton Marking Proposal: Bob sent out the proposal via a link in the shared drive since file was too large to send via email, everyone was able to access it fine. Two changes were recommended: 1) typo “an bicycle” should be “and bicycle “ on first page 2) remove reference to signage on items 11 and 12 (crossings from garage). There was discussion about other items for the proposal, was decided at the meeting to defer future additions for other proposals using similar format with photos and proposed changes. Logistical: Alyse will zip the file before emailing it to John Duguay and city council due to possible file size restrictions at either sending or receiving end. Alyse will send to John Duguay after January 4 2021. Motion to approve proposal pending changes: Michelle proposed, Rita second, unanimous approval VI. New Business DuPage County Forest Preserve Sign Kiosk: Rita spoke with Kevin Horsfall and was told that third parties cannot leave materials at the kiosk. However, Kevin suggested that they could include a digital QR code BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Month Date, Year to the Wheaton Bicycle Map and suggested that Rita contact Tony Martinez director of DuPage County Forest Preserve community relations about the idea. Rita sent an email to Tony which she forwarded to the commission for information. She is awaiting a reply from Tony. Rita also has a phone call into the Wheaton Police Department about the possibility of storage area to collect bicycles for Working Bikes, she has not heard back and will let commission members know when she does. Plans for future meetings: Alyse will send out more details to the commission with plans for the February and March meetings, but the plan as of now is to invite John Duguay to the February meeting and Sidney Sheldon from DuPage County Department of Transportation to the March meeting.
