BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA
November 17, 2021
ii. Bill-the great fires of Wheaton could be a subject. Bill heard Bob Goldsborough
speak at a city meeting and maybe use him as speaker. He researched the
history of Wheaton rd underpass. He will be giving a talk next year at
Wheaton Library about the great fires of Wheaton. We can reach out to Bob
Goldsborough as a possible docent.
iii. History of downtown Wheaton buildings. What used to be there
iv. We could maybe have 2 history rides next year.
VI. New Business
A. Underpass-city reached out to the Commission to ask if we would approve a ramp
on the stairs. We all agreed with the idea. Alyse will email John Duguay with
Commission’s approval.
i. There was discussion about the fact that it would be even better to make it
ADA compliant so wheelchairs and strollers could use it but that had been
discussed by city earlier as not an option.
B. USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships@Cantigny volunteers (Nov 29-
Dec 12)-https://forms.gle/duqaJVPQ3uXstKNZ8 - Michelle
C. Signage at St. James is up. Rita needs to follow up to get our map behind the glass
in the display case. Her contact is Kevin Horsfall.
D. Should we create a “biking with council” similar to our meetings with coffee with
council.
i. We could bike to a local coffee shop and meet there with interested parties.
ii. We could have a local establishment we meet at after bike rides for
discussion with new people who join rides to discuss WBAC and what we
do. Plan to add to at least once a month group rides next year
E. Once the French Market is done we might not get a table because it’s a limited
space. If this happens, Bob suggested we put a table near the repair station. It may
not be done by spring but this is a good idea once the market is built
VII. Meeting adjourned at 8:15
VIII. Upcoming Meetings Jan 19, 2022. We are taking December off
