Call to Order 7 pm Alyse called to order II. Agenda Item-Approval of September Minutes A. Bob motioned B. George seconded C. All approved by voice vote III. Agenda Item-Public Comment Ralph Banasiak from Palatine who has an active bicycle club - trying to set up a bike commission - have people willing to go to meetings; we recommend talking to Maggie from Active Transportation on how to get the city to approve a biking commission IV. Agenda Item-Chair Report A. Guest members from neighboring Bike/ped commissions - Ralph from Palatine - see above B. Annual Report - we went through the report with Ralph C. Roosevelt Rd Underpass - Bob will do the graphics and George will write the proposal and Alyse to edit and we will vote in Nov and present in Dec D. Repair station - we would like to do a ribbon cutting in the Spring for bike shelter and repair station; E. Postcards/Bicycle Route Maps with Pedestrians title added-$1000 - Michelle motioned to spend $750 on maps and $250 on postcards; Laurel seconded motion - all voice vote - unanimously approved V. Agenda Item-Vote on giveaways for next year- $1000 Michelle would like to move to next month VI. Agenda Item-Sidewalk Proposal - Michelle motioned to accept Orchard sidewalk proposal; Bob seconded, unanimously approved by voice vote. City Council meeting reading on Monday, November 7th Michelle and George will attend and read the proposal. VII. Agenda Item-History Ride Virtual - we moved to agenda next month; Michelle sent the survey  BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES October, 19, 2022 VIII. Agenda Item-Safety Rodeo - need to partner with another group/event to get more participants A. Idea 1 - work with the two schools that we worked with for the safe routes - school had a special presentation and allocated the space; Whittier B. Idea 2 - only do bike valet for race at taste of Wheaton, then bike safety rodeo after bike valet - we don’t need the police; advertise in all the schools; Michelle to reach out to Maggie at PD to see if we can do this. Can be a part of their event and advertising for it IX. Agenda Item-Group Rides Oct 22, 1-3 pm Herrick Lake Next year have a group walk to downtown Wheaton for Trick or Treating; X. Agenda Item-Next Month invite Sidney Kenyon - Invite him next month to go over the 5 year plan New Business XI. Agenda Item - Election for Co-Chairs - Michelle and Alyse are up for election again in January as Co-Chairs. While we are happy to C0-Chair again in 2023, if anyone else wants to Chair we are happy to step aside. We highly recommend people do it as a pair as Co-Chairs. Vote in January. XII.
