Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Regular Meeting Minutes May 11, 2016 Call to Order and Roll Call At 6:31 p.m. the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room, Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Penni Cannova, Commissioner Edward Dulaney, Commissioner Kevin Illia, Commissioner Thomas Schreiber, and Commissioner Anne Wanzenberg. Also present were Fire Chief Schultz, Assistant City Manager Duguay and Director of Human Resources Schulz. Public Comment None Approval of Minutes Commissioner Dulaney moved and Commissioner Wanzenberg seconded to approve the minutes of the March 9, 2016 Regular Meeting, as amended; and the minutes of the April 5, 2016 and April 6, 2016 Special Meetings. The motion carried unanimously. Old Business Approval of Preliminary Fire Lieutenant Promotion List. Assistant City Manager Duguay presented the Preliminary Fire Lieutenant Promotion List. He stated in accordance with the Agreement between the Wheaton Firefighters Union – IAFF Local 3706 and the City of Wheaton, four out of the eight candidates qualified for the list based on their cumulative score of 70% or better after all components were scored. Assistant City Manager Duguay stated that according to the process, once the preliminary list is approved, it is necessary to wait 10 days after the posting of the list to allow eligible candidates to request military preference points. Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to approve the Preliminary Fire Lieutenant Promotion List. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Commissioner Illia Commissioner Schreiber Nays: None Absent: None Motion Carried Unanimously New Business Election of Officers Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to re-elect Penni Cannova to the position of Chair. Chair Cannova accepted the position. Commissioner Wanzenberg accepted the position.
