Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Regular Meeting Minutes September 19, 2016 Call to Order and Roll Call At 5:38 p.m. the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Penni Cannova, Commissioner Edward Dulaney, Commissioner Kevin Illia, and Commissioner Anne Wanzenberg. Commissioner Thomas Schreiber was absent. Also present were Deputy Chief Murphy, Lieutenant Miller, Director of Human Resources Schulz, and Executive Assistant Qualkenbush. Public Comment None Approval of Minutes Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2016 regular meeting. Commissioner Illia moved and Commissioner Dulaney seconded to approve the minutes of the August 10, 2016 special meeting. The motions carried unanimously. Closed Session –Police Officer Candidate Interviews [5ILCS 120/2(c)(1)] At 5:41 p.m., Chair Cannova moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to adjourn to Closed Session for Police Officer Candidate Interviews, and to consider information concerning the employment and appointment of specific candidates. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Commissioner Illia Commissioner Wanzenberg Nays: None Absent: Commissioner Schreiber Motion Carried Unanimously The Board returned to open session 9:35 p.m. Action on Closed Session Item Commissioner Dulaney moved and Commissioner Wanzenberg seconded to remove candidate Dante Perez from further hiring consideration.
