Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Regular Meeting Minutes April 18, 2017 Call to Order and Roll Call At 5:31 p.m., the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Cannova, Commissioner Dulaney, Commissioner Illia Commissioner Schreiber, and Commissioner Wanzenberg. Also present were Deputy Chief Murphy, Lieutenant Miller, Director of Human Resources Schulz, and Executive Assistant Qualkenbush. Public Comment None Approval of Minutes Commissioner Illia moved and Commissioner Dulaney seconded to approve the minutes of the November 9, 2016 regular meeting. The motion carried unanimously. End of Probation – Officer Green & Officer Hayward Commissioner Illia moved and Commissioner Wanzenberg seconded to accept the written recommendation of Police Chief Volpe and appoint Officer Green and Officer Hayward to full-time non- probationary status. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Illia Commissioner Schreiber Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Nays: None Absent: None Motion Carried Unanimously Closed Session – Police Office Candidate Interviews [5ILCS 120/2(c)(1)] At 5:36 p.m., Commissioner Wazenberg moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to adjourn to Closed Session for Police Officer Candidate Interviews, and to consider information concerning the employment and appointment of specific candidates.
