Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Regular Meeting Minutes March 1st, 2018 Call to Order and Roll Call At 4:39 p.m., the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Cannova, Commissioner Dulaney, Commissioner Illia and Commissioner Wanzenberg. Commissioner Schreiber was absent. Also present were Police Chief Volpe, Deputy Police Chief Murphy, Lt Miller and Director of HR Schulz. Public Comment None New Business Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to go into Closed Session for the purpose of interviewing Police officer candidates. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Illia Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Nays: None Absent: Commissioner Schrieber Motion Carried Unanimously Police Officer Eligibility List Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to give Miquel Palomo a conditional offer of employment, and remove all other candidates considered from the list. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Illia Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Nays: None Absent: Commissioner Schrieber Motion Carried Unanimously Adjournment Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Dulaney seconded to adjourn the regular meeting at 7:49 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.  Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Closed Meeting Minutes March 1st, 2018 Call to Order and Roll Call At 4:41 p.m., the closed meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Cannova, Commissioner Dulaney, Commissioner Illia and Commissioner Wanzenberg. Commissioner Schreiber was absent. Also present were Police Chief Volpe, Deputy Police Chief Murphy, Lt Miller and Director of HR Schulz. New Business Commissioners interviewed two candidates for entry level Police officer. After the scores were recorded, it was determined that Miquel Palomo could be considered to move on in the process while all others could be removed.
