Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Regular Meeting Minutes August 29, 2018 Call to Order and Roll Call At 3:32 p.m., the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Cannova, Commissioner Dulaney, Commissioner Haines, Commissioner Illia and Commissioner Wanzenberg. Also present were Chief Murphy, Lt. Cooley, and Director of Human Resources Schulz. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Illia moved and Commissioner Haines seconded to approve the minutes of the August 27th, 2018 regular meeting. The motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Dulaney moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to approve the minutes of the August 27th, 2018 closed meeting. The motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Haines moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to approve the minutes of the August 28th, 2018 regular meeting. The motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Illia moved and Commissioner Haines seconded to approve the minutes of the August 28th, 2018 closed meeting. The motion carried unanimously. New Business Commissioner Wanzenberg moved and Commissioner Dulaney seconded to go into Closed Session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Commissioner Haines Commissioner Illia Nays: None Absent: None Motion Carried Unanimously Commissioner Dulaney moved and Commissioner Illia seconded to extend Conditional Offers of Employment to Police Officer candidates Jaroslaw "Jerry" Hampel, Kevin Freeman, Ivan Lichvan, Nadia Duarte, Brian Wagner, Russell Tanzillo and Derek Hoots. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Illia Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Commissioner Haines Nays: None Absent: None Motion Carried Unanimously Commissioner Illia moved and Commissioner Wanzenberg seconded to remove all remaining candidates from the Police Final Eligibility List. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Illia Commissioner Wanzenberg Chair Cannova Commissioner Dulaney Commissioner Haines Nays: None Absent: None Motion Carried Unanimously Adjournment Commissioner Haines moved and Commissioner Dulaney seconded to adjourn the regular meeting at 7:08 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
