WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSIONERS MEETING MINUTES WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 W WESLEY STREET, WHEATON, ILLINOIS 60187 Wednesday, May 14, 2026 Open Meeting 5:00 p.m. I. Call to Order At 5:00 p.m., Chair lllia called to order the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair lllia, Commissioner Sifnotis, Commissioner Vroman, and Commissioner Haines. Also present were Fire Chief Brill and HR Director Schulz. Commissioner Cannova was absent. II. Public Comment- None Ill. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Vroman moved, and Commissioner Sifnotis seconded the motion to approve the meeting minutes of May 13, 2026. The motion carried unanimously. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair lllia Commissioner Sifnotis Commissioner Vroman Commissioner Haines Nays: None Commissioner Cannova was absent IV. Old Business- None V. New Business- None VI. Closed Session a. Review of Closed Session Minutes 5 ILCS 120/2(c){21} b. Fire Lieutenant Candidate Interviews 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(l} At 5:01 p.m., Commissioner Vroman moved, and Commissioner Haines seconded the motion to move into closed session for the purpose of interviewing Fire Lieutenant candidates and reviewing prior Closed Session minutes. The motion carried unanimously - 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) and 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair !Ilia Commissioner Sifnotis Commissioner Vroman Commissioner Haines Nays: None Commissioner Cannova was absent  The Board returned to the option portion of their meeting at 7:29 p.m. VII. Approve and Authorize Disposition of Closed Session Minutes Commissioner Sifnotis moved and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to keep all prior Closed Session Minutes closed.
