CITY OF WHEATON COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMISSION Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, January 3, 2018 I. Call to Order: by Gail Forrest at 7:06pm II. Roll Call: Commission Members Present Commission Members Absent Gail Forrest Leslie Day Vickie Miller Shayne Moore Ronnie Gillis Erik Miller Colleen Attwell III. Citizens to be heard: We were joined by Tony Asta who is interested in joining the Commission. We also had an application from Erika Nelson. The Commission recommended moving both forward for approval by the City Council. IV. Approval of minutes: From November 1, 2017. Erik Miller moved, Vickie Miller seconded the motion. The motion for approval carried. V. Continuing Business: A. Military Projects – Gail is working to find a military representative to join the Commission and coordinate this project. Gail is also establishing contact with Fort Riley now that Bill Gilbertson has left the Commission. B. Cultural Diversity – Tony Asta volunteered to lead and will identify Cochair. C. Make a Difference Day – No report at this time. Open Lead, Ronnie Gillis Cochair. D. Good Citizens – Vickie Miller — Nothing new to report at this time. E. Treasurer’s Report—Erik Miller — City is moving to calendar fiscal year, so will have shortened budget cycle from May 2018 to December 2018. F. Communications – No report. Shayne Moore may want to lead, will check. VI. New Business: At February meeting, we will discuss Commission priorities and project budgets in depth. VII. Commissioner Comments: None VIII. Adjournment: Ronnie Gillis moved and Vickie Miller seconded a motion to adjourn at 8:00 pm. The motion passed.
