CITY OF WHEATON COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMISSION Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, April 18, 2018 I. Call to Order: by Gail Forrest at 7:03pm II. Roll Call: Commission Members Present Commission Members Absent Gail Forrest Erik Miller Vickie Miller Leslie Day Ronnie Gillis Colleen Attwell Shayne Moore Tony Asta Erica Nelson Julie Kulovits III. New Member: Julie Kulovits was approved by the City Council to join the Commission. IV. Citizens to be heard: None . IV. Approval of minutes: Leslie Day moved to approve the March 2018 minutes and Julie Kulovits seconded the motion. The motion for approval carried. V. Continuing Business: A. Finance (Erik Miller) – A motion was made by Shayne Moore to support the Wheaton USGA golf event with $500 donation to Wheaton Fine & Cultural Arts Commission. Motion was seconded by Erica Nelson and passed unanimously. B. Communications (Shayne Moore) – No updates C. Wheaton World Tour (Tony Asta/Erica Nelson) – The event will be renamed “Festival of Cultures”. a. ACTION - Tony – Check Adams Park and Memorial Park as potential location. b. ACTION - Tony – Check potential conflicts for dates of September 9 or 16. D. Good Citizens Awards (Vickie Miller/Colleen Attwell) – Nominations were reviewed and awardees were chosen. . ACTION - Gail – Alert Sharon of awardee names a. ACTION - Colleen – Order catering and awards b. ACTION - Vickie – Order flowers c. ACTION - Shayne – Prepare event program E. Make a Difference Day – No updates F. Military Projects – No updates  G. Business Sponsorship – No updates VI. New Business: None VII. Commissioner Comments: None VIII. Adjournment: Ronnie Gillis moved and Vickie Miller seconded a motion to adjourn at 8:15 pm. The motion passed.
