Approval of Minutes Minutes approved for June meeting V. Citizens to be Heard Katie Sivak asked to join the commission and was unanimously voted onto the team. Welcome Katie! VI. Continuing Business Finance / Social Media Reports / Other Meeting Reports Action: All commissioners give feedback to Moore on WCRC brochure. Due by next commission meeting. (COMPLETE) Sponsorship Went through the list of potentials and different members of the commission offered to followup for sponsors. Thus far we have three donors totaling about $1K, still short of goal. Action: Each commission member to help find sponsors. (COMPLETE Thank you McKeen, Nelson, Asta and Forrest). Festival of Cultures A team of about forty participated in the July 4th parade and received the Mayor’s Spirit Best Representation of Wheaton award. Kudos to Asta and crew for spearheading WCRC with a crowd of diverse Wheatonites. Action: Have Thrower do publicity on award/save the date reminder (Moore). Status of progress: . Police approval pending upgrade of stage platform (Action COMPLETE – Asta) . Determine whether to provide basic infrastructure ie tables, tents, chairs (Action COMPLETE – Asta, provide tables only due to budget constraints). Action: Asta to followup on videographer lead from Kulovits. Make a Difference Day NO REPORT Smith absent. Action: Frederick to connect with Giving Dupage for ideas for Make A Difference Day. Frederick and Smith to review and revisit possible use/redeploy MADD national toolkit. Good Citizens of the Year Nothing new. Military Initiative NO REPORT: Nelson absent. Action: Each committee should report at each meeting, if chair is absent, they should ensure the cochair is able to report on the progress. (ALL) VII. New Business VIII.
