Present: Tony Asta, Colleen Attwell, Krista Selvey, Saleha Jawaid, Meg Beasley, Kay Fredrick, Jennifer Sever, Erica Nelson, Katie Sivak, Stephanie Henry. Absent: Rachel Bautista, Laura Peccarelli b. Public: Marco Scola, Bari Ericson (WPL) IV. Approval of Minutes a. Tony motioned to approve, Saleha 2nd, approved unanimously V. Old Business a. Committee Updates i. Festival of Cultures (Tony) – 12 days away. Performance schedule discussion. Art Project by Immigrant Solidarity DuPage – pottery with indigenous patterns. Possibility of having a vaccination truck at the Gary Church. Bingo passports for kids to take to each table to get stamped. CERT will be in attendance. Parking at Gary Church or City Hall. Extra posters – please post! Communications have been great – social media, newsletters, Patch, Discover DuPage, Glancer Magazine, Kid List. CRC Shirts will be delivered. Need more volunteers – spread the word! WCRC members should meet at Memorial Park at 11:30am. ii. DEI (Tony via Rachel) –Collaborating with WPL, LWV, DuPage NAACP on a panel about the 1st Civil Rights March in Wheaton – 9/21 at 7pm via Zoom. Requesting $200 to support the panelists – Krista motion, Colleen 2nd, approved unanimously. iii. Latinx Month (Tony via Rachel) – no solid programming for national Hispanic Heritage month. iv. Veteran acknowledgement and support (Erica) – in reassessment of how/if to proceed. v. 2022 budgets (Tony) - $10,000 is the budget for the year. Plus any sponsorships/matching. VI. New Business – Welcome Stephanie! Introduction – Marco Scola. VII. Public Comment – Bari – please keep WPL in mind for future projects/events. VIII.
